ITL launches new PS 7505 5-speed powershift.

ITL is launching its new powershift transmission at BAUMA 2001. This new PS 7505 is ITL's latest in a line of proven, rugged and reliable powershift transmissions. The PS 7505 is designed with a host of features offering performance which makes it unique in its marketplace.

Ideally suited for agriculture, construction and materials handling where higher roading speed is predominant in a machine's operation whilst towing or moving between sites or contracts, the PS 7505 is designed for applications such as telescopic handlers, backhoe loaders, crop sprayers and site dumpers. The powershift allows operator comfort levels to be enhanced but, more particularly, saves equipment owners from the cost of machine abuse by varied and inexperienced operators.

The design is based around using successful existing components which have already been proved rugged and reliable through hundreds of thousands of operational hours. The new PS7505 makes the entry into a higher power band application and marks a widening of ITL's on/off highway product offering. ITL's pedigree in this field is second to none. The new transmission features 750 Nm of torque, handling a power output of 120 hp (90kW).

Designed for 2wd or 4wd applications, the PS 7505 is configured with electronic control unit (ECU). The transmission features five forward and four reverse gears. Gears 1-4 are driven through the torque converter, whilst the fifth speed is direct drive, bypassing the torque converter. ITL engineers predict smooth and quiet power transmission across all ratios with performance gains in tractive effort and efficiency increases of some 8% overall.

With an increase in the overall transmission ratio, a machine's capability at the limit (for example, agricultural machines pulling out of deep silage pits) has effectively been given 20% more tractive effort in each gear, at the very time it is needed most.

The live pump drive feature is mounted offset at the rear of the transmission and is capable of full engine power with a constant pump drive shaft ratio of 1.17 x engine speed through all gears.

The transmission's overall dimensions have been designed to be compact and fit in the smallest envelope possible, so facilitating the most flexible application platforms.

The ITL range encompasses axles, transmissions, synchromesh and powershift (with optional electronic control units and live power take off), powertrains and fully integrated drivelines for applications requiring 30-90 kW (40-120Hp) power output.
